Research: Effects of population movements on COVID-19 reproduction rate
Main goal of the research conducted by Koios Data Scientists was to determine the effects of changes in average population movement on changes in COVID-19 reproduction rate (R).
Google Mobility data shows population movement decrease daily, over six categories, compared to average movement for a specific weekday before the epidemic outburst.
Reproduction rate was calculated from official data, but due to the lack of reliability and further information, reproduction rate calculations made by The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) were used.
